BUIES CREEK – The Fighting Camels had a historically strong night on offense to made quick work of Hampton with a 3-0 sweep, winning all three sets by the score of 25-11.
Campbell hit .534 as a team on the night with only six attacking errors as a team on 73 swings. That marks the best hitting percentage since 1989, and the best in the 25-point rally scoring era and of
Greg Goral's tenure.
Gwen Wolkow's led the way hitting a blistering .696 with 17 kills on 23 swings. Wolkow now has four matches of at least 17 kills this season, and has twice hit .696 or better.
Defensively, Campbell held Hampton to hitting .047, the second-lowest by a CU opponent this year.
The first set tied at 1-1 was the only tied score of the night, as Campbell led early in every set and never looked back, taking every score by the same set.
Coach Goral spread the wealth and workload tonight, with all 15 available Camels seeing game action.
The Camels are back in action tomorrow at 1 o'clock to round out the series with Hampton.
