EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. – Fanni Gronlund is tied for 10th individually and Campbell is fourth in the team standings after Sunday's opening round of the Edisto Island Invitational at the Plantation Course.
 
The 54-hole event was originally scheduled to start Monday, but the opening round was pushed to Sunday with heavy rain expected along the South Carolina coast.  Play continues with the second round Monday before Tuesday's final round.  Live scoring is available at Scoreboard.clippd.com.
 
None of the 77 golfers in the field finished in red numbers Sunday on the par-71, 5980-yard layout.  Elon teammates Emma Hansen and Ashley Lafontaine along with Molly Hardwick of host Charleston, all turned in one-over 72s to share the individual lead, one shot better than Elsa Steinarsdottir of Western Carolina.
 
Elon took the team lead with a 10-over 294, five strokes ahead of Georgia State (299).  Charleston (300), Campbell (308) and Stetson (310) rounded out the top five.
 
Gronlund shot a four-over 75 to stand in a tied for 10th on the individual leader board, while Taylah Ellems is T14 (76) and Izabella Grimbrandt T22 (77).   Jade Potter and Isabella Hahne are T37 (80), while Linn Svedlund is tied for 44th (81) while playing as an individual.
