BUIES CREEK — Campbell women's soccer fell to Elon, 2-1, on Sunday night at Eakes Athletics Complex. 

Campbell falls to 2-2-1 in conference play while Elon picked up its first conference win to move to 1-2-2. 

With just over five minutes left in the match, Elon forward Grace Gelhaus sealed the victory for the Phoenix. Out on the left wing by herself, Gelhaus dribbled around the Camel's defender to squeeze the ball past JLo Varada to go up 2-1 with under six minutes to play. 

Campbell (4-5-3, 2-2, 1) would try to find the equalizer off a pair of corner kicks in the final minutes but were unsuccessful. 

Elon (6-2-4, 1-2-2) opened the scoring in the in the 36th minute of the match as Ashlee Brehio found space off the assists by Gabby Hoschek and Ava Hellner to take an early lead. 

Upon review, Gillian Garrison drew a foul inside the box to set up a penalty kick by shot taker Zahra Fepessi who evened things up at one a piece. 

The Camels outshot the Phoenix, 15-13, on the night and drew five more corners than the opponent. CU was whistled for just five fouls but picked up two yellow cards. 

Fepessi led the Camels with three shots on goal and now leads the squad with three goals on the season.
