NEW ORLEANS, La. – In a contest with nine ties and 10 lead changes, Jordyn Weaver made a second-chance layup with two seconds to play, as Tulane topped Campbell, 74-72, Monday evening in the season opener at Avron B. Fogleman Arena.

Jasmine Felton tied the game at 72 apiece with a second-chance layup of her own with 29 seconds remaining.

Jasmine Nivar helped the Camels to a 27-19 lead after the first quarter by each scoring seven points in the opening frame.
Hadleigh Dill went 2-for-2 behind the arc to add six points herself. Kendall Sneed and Amira Mabry added six points each to lead Tulane.

Nivar made a splash in her collegiate debut with a game-high 20 points to go with seven rebounds.
Olivia Tucker added 12 points on four made three pointers, and Felton recorded a double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Dill joined her teammates in double figures.

The Green Wave made its run in the second quarter, outscoring CU 22-11 to take a 41-38 lead into the locker room. Mabry forced her presence in the paint over the 10 minutes, leading the team with six points.

Mabry was the leading scorer for the Green Wave with 19 points, adding five rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes.

Campbell won the rebounding battle, 20-15, in the first half, but Tulane outscored the Camels 20-12 in the paint.

Tucker tied the game at 41 with a three pointer on the first possession of the second half, her third of the contest. The quarter continued to be a back-and-forth affair, as the teams ended the period tied at 56.

The Camels built their lead throughout the fourth quarter, leading by four with 3:30 to play. Tulane cut the lead to one with a three by Tamiah Robinson, then another three by Sadie Shores put them ahead by two with just under two minutes to play.

The teams exchanged baskets in the final 90 seconds before Tulane's last-second go-ahead bucket.

Campbell committed 19 turnovers on the night, leading to 21 Tulane points. CU was plus-13 in second chance points and plus-14 in rebounds, but the Green Wave controlled the fast break points, 12-4.
