BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell women's basketball head coach
Ronny Fisher has announced the signing of local product Emma Carter.
Â
"Emma has great upside with the combination of her size, skill and work ethic," said Fisher. "She continues to focus on improving as a player, and we look forward to helping Emma reach her full potential!"
Â
A 6'4" post player from Apex, Carter has played for Cardinal Gibbons and Oak City Prep. She is the daughter of Ross and Leigh Carter, and her mother played at Campbell from 1989-93 under legendary coach Wanda Watkins.
Â
A standout in the classroom, Carter has been named to the Honor Roll for four consecutive years, and in 2024 she was awarded the Oak City Prep Academic Award. Carter also played AAU ball with the Lady Phoenix team under coach Can Massenburg.
Â
"We are excited that Emma will be joining our women's basketball program," Fisher said. "Emma has attended our camps for years, and we have grown very close to both Emma and her family. She is a terrific student with outstanding character who fits perfectly within the culture of Campbell University and our team."
