Camels win streak snapped at Northeastern

BOSTON - Campbell saw its seven-game win streak snapped in a 67-58 loss at Northeastern Thursday night. The loss was Campbell's first since Jan. 18, as Campbell went nearly a month between losses.

The setback leaves Campbell at 14-12, 9-4 in league play. Northeastern moves to 14-12, 6-7 with the win.

The Camels were engaged defensively in the first half and kept the Huskies to shooting 35% and only 1-11 from distance. Seven turnovers plagued Campbell on the other end and led to nine Northeastern points. Colby Duggan and Elijah Walsh led the way with eight points each in the first half to help Campbell carry a 32-29 lead into the break.

The Camels shot just 33% after halftime and connected only twice from distance. Turnovers continued to be a problem with seven more in the second half. Campbell's 14 total turnovers on the night were its most since Dec. 18. Hofstra retook the lead with 12:34 to play and never relinquished it. Rashad King led the Huskies with 14 points in the second half as part of his game-high 24 to help the Huskies to the 67-58 final.

Duggan led the Camels with 14 points while Walsh finished with 12 points and six boards, both season highs for the junior. Nolan Dorsey just missed another double-double with nine points and nine rebounds, along with four steals.

Harold Woods joined King in double figures with a 14 point, 12 rebound double-double thanks to seven offensive boards. Northeastern hauled in 17 offensive boards on the night to come up with 18 second chance points.

Campbell moves on to Delaware to face the Blue Hens Saturday at 4 p.m. That one will be broadcast on FloCollege.
