SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Campbell baseball lost, 7-2, to UC Santa Barbara in game two of their weekend series at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.

The Camels (0-2) scored their two runs in the top of the ninth inning off a two-run home run from
Charlie Meglio. The long ball from Meglio came with two strikes, clearing the wall in left field to score
Wilson Woodcox.

Santa Barbara (2-0) had another strong performance on the mound, led by starter Jackson Flora. He threw five innings with six strikeouts and no walks. Donovann Jackson threw the final four innings in relief, earning the save along with five strikeouts.

First baseman Jack Holman homered for the second straight game to right field. Jonathan Mendez and Nate Vargas also had home runs to help power the Gaucho offense to 11 hits.

Dalen Thompson had two hits for the Camels, and
Andrew Schuldt recorded his second hit with a single in the eighth inning. The offense struggled to string together production, recording multiple hits in just the ninth inning.

David Rossow got the start on the bump for Campbell. He went three innings with two strikeouts and four earned runs before being relieved by
Evans Hendricks (3.2 innings) and
Ethan Snyder (1.1).
