BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell dropped their second consecutive one score decision against Rider, falling 3-2 Saturday afternoon at Jim Perry Stadium.

The Campbell (1-5) offense picked up in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Jackson Thompson hit a pinch-hit single to right, and
Jarrett Martin drew a walk to put two on with no outs.
Â
Following Martin, freshman
Jett Music doubled down the line in right to score Thompson. The ensuing batter,
Andrew Schuldt, scored Martin with a sac fly to left to bring the Camels within one.

Evans Hendricks.
Â
Hendricks allowed no hits with four strikeouts and two walks over 3.2 innings of work.
Bryce Schares made his Campbell debut out of the bullpen and pitched the eighth and ninth innings, facing the minimum six batters and striking out four. Both frames ended with Thompson catching Rider baserunners trying to steal second base.
Â
The Camels had two baserunners in the bottom of the eighth and one in the ninth, but were unable to bring them in to tie the game. Â
