Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Camels beat Elon by 18

Campbell wins sixth straight game

BUIES CREEK - Campbell avenged an earlier loss to Elon with a 76-58 victory Thursday night inside Gore Arena. Colby Duggan led the way with 23 points to guide Campbell to its sixth straight victory.

The Camels move to 13-11, 8-3 and tied for third in the CAA. Elon falls to 15-9, 6-5.

Nolan Dorsey came up just shy of a triple-double with 10 points, 14 rebounds (career high) and 8 assists. Colby Duggan led the scoring with 23 points, his seventh 20-point game of the season.

Campbell started out hot and connected on four of its first five three-point attempts en route to 40 points in the first half. Duggan and Jasin Sinani led the way with three three-pointers each to help Campbell build a 40-28 halftime lead.

Tasos Cook turned out to be the catalyst in the second half, scoring all 14 of his points (a career high) after halftime including nine straight for the Camels at one point thanks to back-to-back-to-back three pointers. Elon never got closer than 11 before Campbell pushed the lead to as many as 23 before the 76-58 final.

The Camels went right to the rim all night against the tallest team in the country and outscored the Phoenix 32-22 on points in the paint and 19-12 on second chance points. That complemented a barrage of threes as Campbell hit 12 on the night, and have now hit 10+ in each of the last five games.

Elon's Sam Sherry led the team with 12 points while Nick Dorn and TJ Simpkins had 11 each.

Campbell returns to action Monday night at 8 p.m. against NC A&T. That game will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
