GREENSBORO, N.C. - Gemma Nunez recorded a double-double behind a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds, Jasmine Felton tied her career-high with 18 points and Campbell defeated first-place North Carolina A&T 56-52 Sunday afternoon at the Corbett Center.
Campbell (14-9, 7-4) picked up its fourth-straight win, becoming just the second CAA team to defeat North Carolina A&T (13-9, 9-2) this season.
In a game featuring eight lead changes and five ties, Campbell tied its largest lead of the day at 51-46 on a three-pointer by Felton with 2:33 remaining. The Aggies regained the lead as Ajia James and Maleia Bracone knocked down back-to-back threes.
Nunez put the Camels back in front on a layup that beat the shot clock with 44 seconds left while Audrey Fuller and Felton combined to make 3-of-4 free throws to seal the game.
Felton led all scorers with her 18 points, making 6-of-8 shots from the field and draining 2-of-3 threes. The reigning CAA Rookie of the Week added eight boards, two blocks and two steals.Â
Nunez recorded her second career double-double and first with rebounds while adding five assists and three steals. Olivia Tucker scored 10 points including seven in the first quarter while Gianni Boone added seven points.
Bracone led A&T with 14 points, Jordyn Dorsey added 11 and Chaniya Clark finished with 10 points.Â
Campbell shot 40.4 percent (21-of-52) overall and made 10-of-16 free throws while holding the Aggies to 32.2 percent (19-of-59) from the field and 30.0 percent (6-of-20) from three. The Camels held a 30-24 edge in points in the paint and outscored the Aggies 8-2 on breaks.
Campbell is back in action next Sunday at Elon.Â
