WASHINGTON, D.C. - Campbell held Towson to less than 30 percent shooting in the second half and defeated 73-54 Friday night in the quarterfinal round of the Credit Union 1 CAA Championship at CareFirst Arena.
The third-seeded Camels (20-11) advance to face second-seeded Charleston (24-6) in Saturday's 4:30 PM semifinal. Fourth seed Drexel (17-12) meets eighth seed William & Mary (13-18) in the other semifinal matchup at 2:00 PM.
Campbell closed out the first half on an 8-0 run and outscored Towson 27-11 in the third quarter. The Camels led by as many as 27 and held the eleventh-seeded Tigers to 28.1 percent (9-of-32) shooting in the second half.
Audrey Fuller scored nine of her game-high tying 14 points in the second half to lead three Camels in double figures. Fuller finished 5-of-7 from the field, 2-of-3 from behind the arc, and added four boards, two assists and one block. Courtney Dahlquist added 11 points while Ciara Alexander provided 10 points and six boards for the Camels.
Jessica Woods gave CU its largest lead of the night (60-33) on her fast break lay-in with 1:38 to go in the third quarter.
India Johnston and Anasia Staton led Towson (12-20) with 14 points each while Khady Leye recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.Â
Campbell shot 46.3 percent (31-of-67) overall and outscored the Tigers 48-18 in the paint. All 10 Camels who checked into the game scored while seven Camels scored seven points or more. CU finished with 17 assists to just eight turnovers.Â

Gianni Boone gave the Camels an eight-point cushion at halftime, beating the buzzer with a lay-up. Dahlquist drained a pair of threes as part of a 15-0 run in the third quarter.Â
Campbell has reached 20 wins in a season for a fifth time in the last nine seasons under head coach Ronny Fisher. It also marks the fifth time in the last six seasons the Camels have advanced to the conference tournament semifinals.Â
