Camels compete at Bill Carson Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Campbell wrapped up two days of action at the Bill Carson Invitational, hosted by ECU. Two Camels took first place during the weekend, and three entered the top 100 times in the nation this season.

TRACK
Mekhi Dupree snagged third place with a PR in the 200m, clocking 20.76, a time good for eighth nationally this season. Dupree later turned in another good run in the 110m hurdles, at 14.35 to finish second. Dupree completed his weekend finishing fourth in the men's 400m, logging a PR at 48.41.

Three Camels posted PRs to finish third, sixth, and seventh. Miashlie Jean led the way at 58.46, while Nyla McFayden and Truth King went 1:00.19 and 1:03.37, respectively.

The Camels entered eight runners in both the men's and women's 1500m. Emelyn Lacour paced the ladies, finishing seventh at 4:48.81. Andrew Barrett led the way for the men at 4:03.80 to finish eighth.

FIELD
Autumn Judd had a solid showing this weekend, highlighted by taking the top spot in the women's discus at 44.52m, more than two meters better than second place. Judd also claimed fourth in shot put at 12.29m, and sixth in hammer at 49.28.

Ticora Gaskin jumped 5.70m in the women's long jump to take first place and put her in the top 80 nationally during the young season. Omari Bennett took third on the men's side, at 6.94m, placing him in the top 100 nationally.

Jacob Carroll took second in the pole vault, clearing 3.95m, with Aedan Sampey taking fourth in the event at 3.65m.

Chloe Soorus led the way for the women in pole vault at 3.38m to take second. Zoie Hembree grabbed fourth, clearing 3.08m.
