BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Jasmine Felton recorded her first career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds as Campbell defeated William & Mary 73-55 Saturday afternoon at Gore Arena on Senior Day.
Campbell (19-11, 12-6) secured the No. 3 seed in next week's CAA Championship in Washington, D.C. With a double-bye, Campbell will face either the sixth, eleventh or fourteenth seed in Friday's 8:30 PM quarterfinal. The winner of the CAA Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
After trailing 43-35 at halftime, William & Mary cut it to a four-point game on Bella Nascimento's three with 7:20 remaining in the third quarter. However, the Camels closed the quarter on a 10-2 run and held on to a double-digit lead the remainder of the game. Fuller's three-pointer with 3:12 remaining gave Campbell its largest lead of the day at 19.
Olivia Tucker added 15 points, including 12 in the first half. Gianni Boone added 10 points while Gemma Nunez finished with 10 points, five rebounds, six assists, four steals and one block.Â
Playing in their final home game, seniors Courtney Dahlquist and Audrey Fuller combined for 17 points. Fuller assisted Dahlquist's three-pointer to open the game. Dahlquist finished with nine points, five rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal while Fuller ended with eight points, one assist and one steal.
Felton led the Camels with 16 points and a career-high 12 boards, while also adding two steals and one block.
Campbell shot 45.5 percent (30-of-66) overall and made 38.5 percent (10-of-26) of its threes. The Tribe shot 44.2 percent (19-of-43) from the field and made 14-of-16 free throws but were limited to 3-of-10 shooting beyond the arc.Â
The Camels scored 18 points off 21 turnovers, and held a 37-25 edge on the boards. Campbell pulled down 16 offensive rebounds on its way to scoring 18 second chance points.Â
The Camels wrap up the regular season 12-2 at home, tied for the fifth-best home record ever in the Division-I era.
