Camels sweep The Citadel

CHARLOTTE – The Camels completed the sweep of the Queens Fall Classic with a 3-0 win over The Citadel.

The win is Campbell's sixth in a row as Campbell improves to 7-2 on the season. The Camels have now swept back-to-back tournament, following a clean sweep of the Campbell Invitational a week ago.

Wolkow was named tournament MVP. Wolkow logged 48 kills on .418 hitting, along with 27 digs, Campbell's second-most this weekend. Hailey Heytvelt and Victoria Tupy each earned spots on the all-tournament team as well.

Campbell got off to a hot start, hitting .480 in the opening frame. Wolkow led the charge with six kills on only seven swings, while CU tallied 14 kills against only two errors in the first to pull away 25-14.

Campbell cruised through the second set 25-12 as Wolkow turned in an even better set than the first. The senior tallied 10 kills on 11 swings in the second frame to hit better than 90% in the set.

The Camels didn't let up in the third set and put away the Bulldogs 25-16 to finish the sweep.

Wolkow finished with 21 kills on a blistering .731 hitting percentage, a mark good for eighth-best in program history, and the third-best in Campbell history by an outside hitter in a single match.

Sadie Johnston earned her first career start at libero and collected a match-high 10 digs. Hannah Pattie led all setters with 20 assists.

The Camels are back in action next weekend in Evanston, Ill. to face St. Thomas and Northwestern.
