BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell played to a 2-2 draw against the visiting Longwood Lancers Tuesday night at Eakes Athletics Complex. A physical match from beginning to end, the teams combined for 31 fouls and nine yellow cards, six of which came in the second half.

Longwood (1-3-2) scored the opening goal in the 13
th minute, as Christer Salvesen sent a looping a ball from midfield down the right side into the path of Benjamin Ferrero, who collected outside the corner of the 18-yard box. He took advantage of the goalkeeper playing off his line and chipped it into the goal.

The Camels (2-2-3) scored their two goals in the closing minute of the first half and opening minute of the second half to take a 2-1 lead.

Campbell earned a corner kick with just over a minute to play in the first half, and the ball found its way to the feet of
Lilian Fichelle at the near post, who sent it back across the face of goal where
Jake Roberts was able to sneak it past the goalie for his second career goal.

CU opened the second half quickly, sending a ball to
Marco Wright towards the left corner flag. He sent in a low cross to
James Jenkin, who was waiting near the top of the six-yard box and calmly slotted it home with his right foot.

Longwood found the equalizer in the 70
th minute, as Brando Bedolla and Syrus Conolly combined to assist Joaquin Sonez. Bedolla and Conolly played the ball along the right endline before Conolly sent it to the top of the six-yard box where Sonez was waiting to send it into the back of the net.

The Campbell defense faced five shots in the final 20 minutes.
Max Levition saved two and the defense blocked the last attempt in the final 10 seconds to prevent a game-winning goal from the Lancers.

Those two saves were Leviton's only of the night, and Max Hinke had four for the Lancers. Campbell statistically put more pressure on the Lancers throughout the night, outshooting Longwood, 16-10, and winning the corner kick battle, 10-0. All 10 corner kicks came in the first half.
