CARY, NC - The Campbell women's tennis team fell Saturday to Ole Miss at the Cary Tennis Park. The match was the season opener for the Rebels, who finished last season ranked No. 34 nationally. 

Campbell now sits at 0-3 with all three matches against power conference opponents.

The Rebels secured the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Campbell duos Sonia Pieczynska and Sandra Mari Marti, Mollie Garcia and Hayley Glen, and Veronika Prospalova and Aubrey Carroll competed against experienced Ole Miss pairings featuring nationally ranked players.

In singles play, the Camels matched up against a deep Rebel lineup highlighted by strong individual talents. Garcia led off at the top of the order, while Marti, Pieczynska, Carroll, Ilouna Aneca, and Glen all saw action across the lineup.

"Several matches featured competitive moments, including tight opening sets from Pieczynska and Glen, who each battled through close first sets before Ole Miss pulled away," head coach Mike Stevens said. "The match provided Campbell an opportunity to test itself against a proven program and continue developing depth and match toughness as the season progresses."

Campbell returns to action Saturday when the Camels take on Mount Olive.
