BUIES CREEK - Campbell has been selected as the No. 6 seed in the upcoming CAA Women's Tennis Championships, to be held April 17-19 in Williamsburg, Va.
The sixth-seeded Camels will face 3-seed Charleston in the quarterfinals Friday at 6 p.m. at the Mackesy Tennis Center on the campus of William & Mary. The winner will move on to face 2-seed William & Mary Saturday at 6 o'clock.
Campbell and Charleston met once during the regular season, a 5-2 defeat for the Camels at home on Mar. 30. Campbell earned the doubles point, with
Sonia Pieczynska providing the only singles win of the afternoon for the Orange and Black.
The CAA Championship match is slated for Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Camels posted a 7-12 record this spring, with a 4-2 mark against league competition.
Campbell has now earned a spot in the CAA tournament in each of its three seasons in the league. The Camels reached the semifinals two years ago, and fell in their first round matchup to Delaware a season ago.
