HEMPSTEAD, NY – Campbell fell to Hofstra 3-0 in the first meeting between sides since the 2025 CAA title.
Campbell falls to 5-9, 1-2 in the league, while Hofstra moves to 10-3, 5-0.
The Camels never led in the opening frame, but made the Pride work for the opening frame. Campbell trailed by as many as five before eventually drawing within a point at 23-22. A pair of attack errors kept Campbell from evening the score and led to Hofstra taking it 25-23.
Campbell nabbed their first lead of the day at 7-6 in the second set, but couldn't hold it and dropped the set 25-16. The set was tied at 16 apiece before Hofstra ripped off a 9-0 run to close out the set. The Pride finished with five blocks in the set to hold Campbell's offense to hitting -.053 in the second.
Hofstra used that late momentum to keep things rolling in the third, closing out the set with a 25-12 win. The Camels again hit below zero, this time at -.047.
Campbell finished hitting a season-low .024, their lowest mark in a match since Oct. 19, 2024.
Emma McCartney led the Camels with eight kills, her first match of the season not finishing in double figures.
Alexis Jodie handed out a team-best nine assists, while
Sadie Johnston collected 15 digs.
Hofstra was led by nine kills from Beatriz Braga. The Pride put up 15 blocks, the fourth time this season a Campbell opponent has reached that mark.
