Series History

The Camels and Wolfpack meet for the first time since 2022 in what was a narrow 73-67 defeat for the Camels. Campbell is 1-12 all-time against the Pack, and will be in search of the first win in the series since 1993, when Campbell downed NC State 72-69 in overtime in Raleigh.

The Jimmie Williams Era
Jimmie Williams was tabbed as the seventh head coach in the program's D1 era. Williams worked as head coach at Anderson (DII) the past four seasons and helped the Trojans to a school-record 29 wins at a conference championship a season ago.

The Campbell roster underwent a complete overhaul with zero returners from a season ago. Williams brought four players from his record-setting Anderson squad, as well as Jakob Lowrance and Justin Wakefield on the coaching staff.

Camels To Watch For
Rashawn Inglemon was named SAC Rookie of the Year at Anderson averaging 16 points per game for the Trojans. Inglemon poured in a game-high 29 at South Carolina (exhibition) going 12-21 FG, 5-8 from downtown.

AJ Wright Jr. was the SAC Defensive Player of the Year for Anderson in 2025-26. The self-proclaimed pass-first point-guard is the program record holder for both assists and steals across just three seasons at Anderson. His 225 career steals ranked #21 among all active players a season ago, and were second-most among then-juniors across NCAA levels.

Nordin Kapic scored in double figures in both exhibitions, and notched a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds against Francis Marion. The 6'8" South Carolina transfer enters his fifth year after appearing in 30 games for the Gamecocks a year ago.

Lance Waddles has the most former DI experience on the squad, with four years under his belt at North Dakota State and Omaha. Waddles started every game a season ago at Omaha and averaged 12.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. The fifth-year scored a game-high 25 in the preseason exhibition against Francis Marion.

Preseason Wrap Up
Campbell went 1-1 in preseason action, topping Francis Marion 91-80, and losing at South Carolina 77-68. The Camels led for more than 26 minutes at South Carolina, and the Gamecocks did not hold a second half lead until inside of two minutes. Rashawn Inglemon led the way with a game-high 29 points in Columbia.

Scouting the Wolfpack
Monday's opener will feature two new head coaches as Justin Gainey takes the reins for the Wolfpack. Gainey returns to his alma mater after five seasons on staff at Tennessee.

Ven-Allen Lubin leads NC State returners in both points (13.6) and rebounds (7.1). State also features a familiar newcomer for Campbell in Preston Edmead, last year's CAA Rookie of the Year for Hofstra.

NC State was picked to finish eighth in the ACC preseason poll.

Looking Ahead
Campbell heads north to face Western Michigan in a return trip from the home game last year, where Campbell topped the Broncos 91-82. Tip-off in Kalamazoo is set for 2 p.m. ET on Nov. 8 and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
