FARMINGTON, PA. –
Logan Graf and
Erik Johansson placed in the top five individually and Campbell finished fifth in the team standings after Tuesday's final round of the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational at Mystic Rock Golf Club.
In an event where nine strokes separated the top five teams, Will Hennessee birdied the final hole to lift Seton Hall (297-287-279—863, -1) to a one-stroke win over Eastern Michigan (287-298-279—864). Host West Virginia was third (290-292-287—869), followed by William & Mary (293-293-284—870) and Campbell (295-292-285—872) in the 16-school event.
Hennessey's birdie on the tournament's 54th hole not only provided the Pirates with the team victory but moved him into a three-way tie for medalist honors at 5-under on the par-72 Pete Dye design. Vicente Quiroga of Eastern Michigan, who fired a nine-under 63 Tuesday, and Hampton Beebe of Auburn also shared the individual title.
Paced by Graf, who birdied six of his first eight holes, Campbell jumped to the top of the leader board after starting the day 8-under as a team. However, the Camels cooled off on the back nine and finished 3-under on the day, 8-over for the event.
Graf (75-73-64—212) fired a collegiate low in Tuesday's final round to finish fourth in the 88-golfer field – just one shot out of the lead. The result was the best for the fifth-year senior from Sylvan Lake, Alberta since he tied for first at the 2025 Bash in the Boro. Graf's 64 is tied for the fourth-lowest 18-hole score in Campbell's Division I (since 1977-78) history. The only blemish on his scorecard was a bogey on the par-4 ninth, but Graf responded with birdies on three of the next four holes to finish at 8-under on the day.
In Campbell's D1 era, only Ray Kraivixien (61 at the 2018 Stitch Intercollegiate), Pontus Nyholm (62 at the 2021 Stitch Intercollegiate) and Max Theodorakis (63 at the 2018 Golfweek Program Challenge) have recorded single-round scores better than Graf's tally on Tuesday. The last time a Campbell player finished at least 8-under for a round was Henrik Lilja, who shot an 8-under 64 at the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge.
Johansson, who led the tournament after two rounds, extended his bogey-free stretch to 31 holes after making birdie Tuesday morning on the fifth and sixth. However, the senior from Hollviken, Sweden played the final nine 4-over and finished fifth (his best result of the season) at 3-under 213 (70-69-74).
