Campbell to host William & Mary Thursday night

BUIES CREEK - Campbell will look to get back in the win column in round two with William & Mary Thursday night at 7 p.m. The Camels previously won a 104-96 shootout in Williamsburg.

Previous Meeting
DJ Smith poured in a career-high 39 points to lead Campbell to a 104-96 victory. The Camels led by as many as 25, but saw that deficit cut to two points in the closing minutes before holding on for the win. 

The 104 points marked a program record for points in a road game and points in regulation against a D1 opponent. 

Scouting The Tribe
William & Mary enters at 16-10, 7-7 in league play after a home loss to Elon last time out. 

The Tribe lead the league in offense with 80.9 ppg in CAA play, two points better than Campbell in second place. The balanced offense features six players averaging between 8 and 12 points, led by Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi at 11.4 ppg. Chase Lowe leads in both rebounding (5.8) and assists (4.0). 

Last Time Out
Campbell fell to Charleston 62-57 on a tough shooting night. The Camels went just 2-21 from downtown and shot 34% overall. Despite the shooting woes, Campbell stayed in the game and led for eight minutes and never trailed by more than six in the final 17 minutes of the game.

Jeremiah Johnson led Campbell with 16 points, while Muneer Newton hauled in 11 rebounds.

Campbell plays a third straight home game Saturday against UNCW. A pregame block party begins at 2 p.m. in front of the arena before the 4 p.m. tipoff.
