BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell and College of Charleston played a tightly-contested game before the Cougars ultimately pulled away late to win 61-49, Tuesday evening at Gore Arena.

The Camels now sit 14-9 and 7-3 in CAA play, while the Cougars improve to 18-3 (10-0) with their 11
th consecutive win.

Campbell jumped out to a 10-7 lead in the first five minutes.
Oliva Tucker made two early three pointers, and
Gianni Boone made her first two shot attempts.

Taryn Barbot powered Charleston early on with five free throws in the first quarter. Her sister, Taylor Barbot, led the Cougars with 19 points.

Barbot's free throws were the only attempts from the charity stripe for either team in the first half, as both teams competed at the defensive end without fouling. Charleston committed six fouls in the first half, and CU only committed two, but both led to foul shots for Barbot.

Campbell trailed by three entering halftime, led by 11 points from Tucker. She ended the game with 17 points, leading the Camels for the third consecutive game, thanks to a career-high tying five three pointers.

Boone added 14 points, going 7-of-10 from the field, and
Jasmine Nivar added 11 points and six rebounds.

The teams began the fourth quarter with Charleston holding to a five-point lead before the Cougars pulled away, led by Taylor Barbot. She scored five of her game-high 19 points in the final frame.

Charleston's biggest advantage came at the free throw line, where it was 12-of-14. Campbell was only 1-of-4, with its first attempts coming with 2:40 to play in the final quarter.
