CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Campbell closed out the 2025-26 regular season at the Cavalier Invite, posting multiple season-bests at the Virginia Aquatic and Fitness Center.
The Camels posted a pair of relay wins, taking the 400 medley relay with a squad that consisted of
Natalie Kingsbury,
Arabella Butera,
Julia Garcia and
Nicole Rubino, tallying a time of 3:51.00. The same relay team followed with a win the 200 medley relay, notching a time of 1:45.72
The Camels also went 2-3-4 in the 200 free relay to kick off the event, with the runner-up squad featuring
Nicole Rubino,
Kyndall Brown,
Bernie Musto and
Madelynn Twigg, posting a time of 1:35.96.
Individually,
Chloe Vitatoe placed seventh in the 200 IM with a 2:10.15 mark, followed by
Julia Garcia with a time of 2:10.69.
Katarina Gagnon also took seventh in the 500 free with a time of 5:08.32, adding another seventh place finish in the 100 back, notching a time of 58.72, while
Arabella Butera placed eighth with a 59.21 mark. Gagnon added another seventh place finish in the 200 backstroke, clocking in at 2:03.99, while Garcia took eighth with a 2:04.74.
In the 200 backstroke, Gagnon tacked on another seventh place finish with a time of 2:03.99, while Garcia finished eighth with a 2:04.74 mark. Garcia also took eighth in the 100 fly with a time of 57.58.
Leticia Dias placed sixth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.22, leading six consecutive Camels in the order of finish, including
Sophia Grubbs (1:06.14) and
Samantha Chemacki (1:06.67).
Samantha Chemacki then placed eighth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:24.05, one of four Camels in the finals. With a time of 2:16.86,
Alyssa Giovinazzo took seventh in the finals, nearly a four second improvement from her qualifying time.
Reese Bednar followed in eighth with a time of 2:19.83.
Next up, Campbell will head to the 2026 CAA Swimming & Diving Championships, beginning on February 25 in Hampton, Va.
