GREENSBORO, N.C. — Campbell baseball blanked North Carolina A&T, 10-0 (7), in run-rule fashion on Saturday afternoon at World War Memorial Stadium.
Campbell improves to 9-8 and a perfect 5-0 in CAA play while NC A&T drops to 3-15 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
David Rossow picked up his third win of the season tossing 6.2 innings scoreless innings allowing just two hits and a walk while picking up a career-high 13 strikeouts. The right-hander struck out the side twice in the contest and went on to retire 19 of the 22 batters he faced.
Campbell (9-8, 5-0 CAA) got things going in the second as
Carlos Lugo launched his first collegiate home run to give the Camels the lead, 1-0.
The offense continued to stay hot in the third scoring four runs on four hits.
Joe Simpson drew a six-pitch walk before scoring on
Jonah Oster's RBI double then
Andrew Schuldt and Lugo tallied back-to-back RBI base hits for two more runs. Lugo scored the final run of the frame on a Aggie miscue after stealing third.
The momentum carried into the fourth as Oster and Schuldt drew RBI base hits to make it 7-0.
Mike Murphy led off the inning with a base hit before scoring on Oster's RBI single.
Campbell would score three more runs across the final two innings to end things early for the second consecutive game.
Joey Morton recorded an RBI sacrifice fly in the sixth before
Jackson Thompson and
Elijah Clayton plated the final two in the seventh.
Oster led the Camel offense going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two RBI, and three runs scored. Lugo also went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and three runs scored. Schuldt and Chapman each registered multi-hit performances.
