Campbell welcomes Hofstra to The Creek

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Camels open the final third of their season, which consists of six CAA games, when they welcome Hofstra to Barker-Lane Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

CU returned to the win column with a 17-8 victory over Radford on Wednesday afternoon. McKenna Duncan had a career-high five goals and seven points to lead the way. 11 players scored for Campbell in the contest, and the Camels once again secured all the draw controls in the fourth quarter.
 
The win ties this season for the third most wins in program history. The Camels won 10 games in 2016, 2017 and 2022 and 12 games in 2023.
 
Series History
Hofstra is 2-0 against the Camels, with both contests taking place once Campbell joined the CAA.
 
Scouting the Opponents
Hofstra defeated Elon, 7-6, in its first CAA game of the year. Last time out, the Pride lost to Princeton, 20-9. This will be Hofstra's first road game since Feb. 28.
 
Nikki Mennella leads the team with 32 goals and 47 points, nearly double the players in second place. Mennella and defender Christine Dannenfelser were named to the All-CAA Preseason Team, and The Pride was picked to finish fifth.
 
A Century of Victories
Campbell won its 100th game in program history with a 16-9 victory over ECU on March 8. The win was also the 8th in a row, setting a new program record.
 
Prominent Defense
Fifth-year defender Hailey Kohlmann is fifth in the NCAA in caused turnovers, tallying 3.22 per game. She also ranks 19th in the country in ground balls per game (3.0). Adria Welsh is 2nd in the CAA and 38th in the nation with a .459 save percentage.
 
Conference Leaders
Campbell leads the CAA in scoring defense. The team is second in caused turnovers per game, saves percentage, scoring margin and shots/shots on goal per game. Drew Watkins is second in the CAA with 4.9 draw controls per game.
 
CAA Hardware
Hailey Kohlmann is a two-time CAA Defensive Player of the Week. Adria Welsh has two CAA Rookie of the Week honors, and Chole Annibell and Emma Penkunas have each received one CAA Offensive Player of the Week nod.
 
Late Game Heroics
Caroline Laur scored two goals in the final three minutes to complete the comeback against High Point.
 
Against Winthrop, Chloe Annibell netted the game winner with 1:20 left on the clock.
 
White's Early Season Hat Tricks
Sophomore Paige White recorded hat tricks in the first two games of the season. She opened the 2026 campaign with four goals against Jacksonville, followed by three goals and three assists against Gardner-Webb.
 
Preseason Accolades
Fifth-year defender Hailey Kohlmann was selected as an honorable mention on the All-CAA Preseason Team. She was first on the team last year with 37 ground balls and fifth in the CAA in ground balls per game.
 
Looking for Difference Makers
The Camels are looking to replace two program greats with the departure of Rasa Welsh and Sam Bischoff. Welsh is third all-time in career assists, and Bischoff is second all-time in career goals. Both players ended their careers top five in career points.
 
Head Coach Dawn Easley
Coach Easley is in the midst of her 13th season at the helm in Buies Creek. She owns a record of 95-115 at Campbell and a 153-146 overall record.
