BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell won its 13
th CAA game and 12
th home game with an impressive defensive effort over Stony Brook, 55-41, Saturday afternoon at Gore Arena. The Camels held SBU to 27% shooting and moved to 14-1 when shooting above 40% themselves.

The win moved the Camels to 20-11 on the season, the sixth time in Coach
Ronny Fisher's 10-year tenure he has led the Camels to 20 or more wins. They improved to 13-5 in CAA play, surpassing last year's win total by one game. The team also improved to 12-2 at home, tying last year for the fifth-best mark in program history.

Stony Brook finished its regular season at 17-14 and 12-6 in league action.

Jasmine Nivar led all scorers with 16 points, including a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.
Gianni Boone played a great game on her Senior Day, scoring 14 points and adding eight rebounds. Freshman
N'na Konate had an impact on the block, scoring 10 points while adding eight rebounds and four blocks, tying her career high.

The Seawolves opened the game on a 10-2 run before
Jasmine Nivar scored six consecutive points on two old-fashioned three-point plays to bring the Camels back to within two. Stony Brook built its lead back to four, 16-12, to end the first quarter.

Both defenses turned up the intensity in the second quarter. CU held Stony Brook to just four points in the frame on 1-of-12 shooting. This marks the sixth time this season the Fighting Camels held an opponent to less than five points in a quarter.

Campbell's defense, which ranked 15
th in the NCAA in scoring defense and field goal percentage defense, improved on those numbers with the day's performance. They finished the regular season holding opponents to 55.6 points and 35.7% shooting over 31 games.

Campbell scored 10 points to take a 22-20 lead into the break, with eight of them coming by way of
Gianni Boone.

The third quarter was a back-and-forth affair, with Campbell winning the frame by one. Nivar and
Ashleigh Battle each knocked down a three pointer as the Camels shot 50%, but Stony Brook hit four free throws to keep it close.

Stony Brook took the lead on a 4-0 run to start the fourth quarter, but Campbell responded with an 8-0 run to take a 42-35 lead at the final media timeout with 4:55 to play.

The Camels maintained the defensive intensity for the remainder of the game, allowing just one field goal, a layup with 12 seconds to play. The Camels scored 13 points in that frame, building to their largest lead of 16 with 21 seconds to play.
