CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jonah Oster launched a solo home run in the tenth inning to lift Campbell past Charlotte, 5-4, on Tuesday night at Hayes Stadium.
With two outs in the tenth, Oster blasted his ninth home run of the season to give the Camels the lead for good.
Campbell improves 26-14 on the season while Charlotte drops to 19-21 overall.
Campbell (26-14) struck first in the top of the fourth frame as Mike Murphy scored Lukas Schramm from first on an RBI double to left field to take an early 1-0 lead.
Charlotte (19-21) evened the score in the bottom of the fourth after an infield single and Camel throwing error allowed the runner to score.
The Camels doubled its lead in the fifth scoring a pair of runs to take a 3-1 lead. Carlos Lugo tallied his team lead 51st hit of the season to score Logan Chapman from third. Jonah Oster would plate the second run on a base hit through the left side scoring Darnell Parker Jr.
The 49ers would cut into the lead in the fifth on a solo home run before tying things up in the sixth on an RBI groundout.
Andrew Keller would give the Camels the lead for the third time of the night on a base hit back up the middle to score Lugo from second.
Charlotte worked the bases loaded in the seventh with the tying run on third base but a foul out to first ended the threat. The 49ers would go on to even things up in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI double to send the game into extras.
Lugo led the offense tallying his 17th multi-hit performance of the season going 3-for-5 at the plate. He tallied a double, run scored, and RBI in the contest. Schramm and Oster each tallied a pair of hits as Oster drove in two.
Beau Brailey (5-0) picked up the win working the final 1.1 innings allowing just one hit. Brailey entered the game with the game winning run on first base and induced a ground out to get out of the jam in the ninth.
