BUIES CREEK, N.C. –
Fanni Gronlund of Campbell University has been selected to the All-CAA second team in voting by league women's golf head coaches.
A sophomore from Kirkkonummi, Finland, Gronlund competed in all 10 events for the Camels and led her team with a 74.3 stroke average. She capped the year with a career-best seventh-place finish at the Coastal Athletic Association Championship, her second-straight top-10 effort at the league event.
"Fanni is one of Campbell's finest student-athletes," said head coach
John Crooks. "She has an overall GPA of 4.0, is a three-time national champion and even walked around the campus on her recruiting trip – on her hands! Fanni gives 100 percent in the gym, the classroom and the golf course each day. It is an honor and a privilege to coach this remarkable young lady."
In addition to her performance at the CAA Championship, Gronlund also compiled top-20 finishes at the Clemson Tiger Classic (T12), Edisto Island Invitational (T14), Gators Invitational (T19) and City of Oaks Intercollegiate (T12). She matched career-low round (69) at the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate and Gators Invite and played par, or better, golf 8 times.
The 2025 CAA rookie of the year and a WGCA All-America Scholar, Gronlund already owns the 12th-lowest career scoring average (min. 50 rounds) in school history (74.93) and has posted three top-10 finishes in 20 outings.
She won the 2023 Finnish Match Play national championship and is a double major in economics and accounting.
