BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — Campbell baseball dropped its contest against Bradley, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon at Bill Masters Field. The Camels fall to 36-15 overall.
Campbell (36-15) got on the board in the third inning after
Jett Music blasted a two-run shot to dead center to give the Camels a 2-0 lead. Music leads the team with 17 on the season.
The Camels extended its lead 3-0 in the fourth as
Andrew Schuldt ripped an RBI single to left field to score
Mike Murphy who reached on a double to right center.
Bradley cut into the lead in the fourth on an RBI single making it 3-1 before taking the lead in the fifth on a grand slam.
Logen Sutton put the Camels within one on a solo homer in the seventh to make it 5-4.
The Camels looked to even things up in the ninth with a runner on second but was called out at home after advancing to third on a wild pitch to end the game.
Mason Smith (1-1) suffered the loss on the mound giving up the going ahead grand slam in the fifth. Smith collected seven strikeouts in the contest.
The Camels were limited to just five hits in the game and stranded five runners.
Sutton led the Camel offense going 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run and one run driven in.
