BUIES CREEK, N.C. –
Erik Johansson of Campbell University has been selected to the All-CAA second team in voting by league men's golf head coaches.
A junior from Hollviken, Sweden, Johansson led the team with a 71.45 scoring average, which is sixth-lowest in school history and third-lowest among junior class records. He collected four top-10 finishes and played par, or better, golf 14 times in 26 rounds. Ranked No. 389 nationally, Johansson was named CAA golfer of the week twice during the season.
"Erik has shown excellent results, consistently on the golf course and in the classroom that people are able to see," said head coach
Matt Moot. "What everyone is not able to see is his exceptional work-ethic on a daily basis that makes him a reliable student-athlete and leader on our team. I am pleased that the conference coaches selected him for this honor that he surely deserves. We are proud that he wears Orange and Black."
Johansson tied for third place at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate (66-74-70—210), where he matched his collegiate low score in the opening round and helped team to a first-place finish. He finished T4 (75-73-68—216) at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate and third at the Furman Intercollegiate (72-70-69—211, -2). Johansson also produced top-20 performances at the Palmetto Intercollegiate (T14), where CU won the team title and CAA Championship (T19).
He owns the fourth-lowest career scoring average (72.354) in Campbell men's golf Division I (since 1985) history, has recorded eight top-10 finishes in 33 tournaments and played par, or better, golf in 41 of 96 career rounds with 17 rounds in the 60s. Johansson was named the 2024 CAA rookie of the year, first-team all-conference selection and an individual pick to participate in the Chapel Hill regional.
A three-time CAA Commissioner's Honor Roll student, Johansson is a double major in finance and international business.
