Camels post another banner semester in the classroom

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell student-athletes have tallied another banner semester in the classroom in Spring 2026.

As a department, CU student-athletes achieved an overall semester GPA of 3.334, marking the 19th consecutive semester with a department GPA above 3.0, and the 20th time in the last 21 semesters reaching that milestone.

The overall men's semester GPA rose to 3.182, showing improvement even from the record-setting fall semester, while the women's programs posted an impressive 3.522 overall GPA.

Academically, 17 of the department's 19 teams (combining men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field) earned a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, and 11 teams achieved a GPA of at least 3.4. Football continued its strong academic performance by recording a GPA above 3.0 for the third straight semester.

Individual student-athletes also excelled, with 70 Fighting Camels earning a perfect 4.0 semester GPA, representing 17 percent of all student-athletes. Additionally, 190 student-athletes earned a 3.5 GPA or higher, nearly 50 percent, while 319 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 GPA or better, accounting for 77 percent of all student-athletes.

The stellar semester comes in addition to five Campbell teams receiving NCAA Public Recognition Awards, which go to teams earning multiyear Academic Progress Rates in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sport.

This year, women's basketball, women's golf, women's tennis, men's tennis, and volleyball each received the honor.

This marks the fourth straight year that women's basketball, women's golf, and volleyball have received the award, marking every year since the award resumed following a COVID hiatus.
