AWENDAW, S.C. – After weather pushed the action to a new time and location, Campbell fell to Charleston in its CAA opener, 2-1, Friday night at Shea Family Fields.
Senior
Xander Martin recorded his first goal of the season, sending one past the Cougars goalkeeper in the 22
nd minute.
Charleston (2-0-1, 1-0 CAA) opened the scoring thanks to Stian Bendvold's goal in the 14
th minute.
After Martin equalized for Campbell (0-3, 0-1) Michiharu Takanashi responded in the 37
th minute to put the host team ahead once again.
The teams played evenly through the second half, as each teams recorded five shots and two saves.
Adam Granai placed an effort on frame from a corner kick in the 86
th minute, but the Charleston keeper was up to the task.

The Fighting Camels will host Longwood in their home opener Tuesday night at Eakes Athletics Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00, and the match will be streamed live on FloCollege.
