Camels announce non-conference schedule

BUIES CREEK - The Fighting Camels have released the 2026-27 non-conference schedule to kick off the Jimmie Williams era, featuring 14 games before CAA play.

"We're excited about the way this year's non-conference schedule came together. The slate features a great mix of power conference teams and talented mid-majors, giving us the opportunity to go up against some of the nation's premier programs. This schedule will provide plenty of additional motivation for fall practice, knowing we'll need to be ready to go against 14 quality opponents throughout November and December."

"With 10 games across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee we look forward to the chance to play in front of Camel Nation in so many of our non-conference games."

The 2026-27 campaign begins Nov. 2 at NC State, renewing the local series with the Wolfpack for the first time since 2022.

The Camels then visit Western Michigan (Nov. 8) in a return trip from last year's home game, and East Tennessee State (Nov. 11) prior to the home opener.

The home opener falls on Saturday, Nov. 14 against USC Upstate, a former Big South conference foe.

Campbell then heads to the Great Plains region to face off against Oklahoma (Nov. 18) and Kansas State (Nov. 20).

The Camels face Coastal Carolina on Nov. 24 before a week's break around Thanksgiving, resuming action on Dec. 2 at Longwood.

Campbell's second non-conference home game is set for Dec. 5 against Norfolk State.

Non-conference play wraps up with five straight road contests, the first four staying in North Carolina. Campbell faces Davidson (Dec. 9), Gardner-Webb (Dec. 12), Duke (Dec. 15), and ECU (Dec. 18). The trip to Durham and Cameron Indoor Stadium will be Campbell's first since 2021, in what was a narrow nine-point defeat for the Camels.

The final non-conference game sends Campbell to Mississippi State on Dec. 28. The Bulldogs are Campbell's first SEC opponent since Nov. 20, 2010 when Campbell downed Auburn 61-54.

The 14-game non-conference schedule leads into the CAA season, beginning on New Year's Eve at UNCW.
