GREENVILLE, NC – The Camels suffered a 3-0 defeat in the final non-conference game of the season at ECU.
Campbell ends non-con play with a 4-7 mark, while ECU improves to 7-5.
Emma McCartney finished with 15 kills as the only Camel in double figures. Lexi Jodie dished out a team-best 16 assists.
Campbell's offense couldn't find the rhythm early and hit -.094 in the opening frame with 10 errors, allowing ECU to cruise to a 25-13 first-set win.
Campbell showed late life in the second set, using a 5-0 run to cut it to a two-point deficit after trailing by as many as seven in the set, but weren't able to draw even and dropped the second set 25-22.
The Camels had to climb out of another big hole in the third set after falling behind 8-1, and eventually worked back to even at 17-17. Campbell never gained the lead, and dropped the set 25-21, and the match 3-0.
ECU was paced by nine kills each from Aulie Huff and Ellie Pate.
The Camels begin CAA play next weekend at home with a pair of matchups against UNCW. First-serve Friday night is scheduled for 7 p.m.
