BUIES CREEK — Campbell women's soccer secures a 1-1 draw against Hofstra in its CAA home opener on Thursday night at Eakes Athletics Complex.
The Camels move to 3-5-3 overall and 0-1-1 in league play while Hofstra moves to 2-5-3 and 1-0-1 in the CAA.
Campbell opened the scoring in just the 6th minute of the match as
Grace Bannon scored her first collegiate goal to give the Camels a 1-0 lead.
Abby Connolly secured her third assist of the season after taking the corner as Bannon forced the header into the back of the net.
Hofstra found the equalizer in the 17th minute as Hailey Moschitta took the deflection off the Campbell defender and sent a shot over the head of the keeper.
The teams would lock in defensively as the both squads failed to find the back of the net the rest of the way.
Campbell tied its season-high 11 corner kicks and Hofstra tallied seven. The Camels tallied 10 shots compared to Hofstra's 15.
Anais van Doesburg registered five saves on the night.
