MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. –
Joachim Larsen Tegner and
Guillermo Ochoa produced top 10 individual finishes and Campbell placed fifth on the team leaderboard following Tuesday's final round of the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate at Grande Dunes Resort.
Host Coastal Carolina (280-277-278—835) won the team title at 29-under par, nine strokes ahead of runner-up Elon (276-282-286—844). Lipscomb (-18) was third, followed by Texas-San Antonio (-9) and Campbell (-7) in the 16-team field.
Larsen Tegner (68-69-74—211) and Ochoa (69-72-70—211) finished in a tie for 10th place at 5-under par.
Benjamin Killingstad (69-75-72—216) tied for 30th at even par. William Sunborn finished the event 5-over and tied for 53rd (72-74-75—221), while
Erik Johansson (80-74-74—228) tied for 81st.
A transfer from Wagner, Ochoa was the lone Camel to shoot par, or better, in all three rounds. On Tuesday, he was two over after six holes, but played the final 12 holes 4-under, thanks in part to an eagle on the par-five 13th hole. He tied for fourth in the field in par-3 scoring (-2) and with 16 birdies.
Larsen Tegner logged his 12th career top-10 finish after leading the 90-golfer field with 19 birdies and tying for the lead in par-4 scoring (-5).
As a team, the Camels finished third in the field in par-5 scoring (-24) and birdies (59).
Campbell returns to action Sept. 21-22 in the FAU Invitational at the Bear's Club in Jupiter, Fla.
