BOILING SPRINGS,
N.C. - Senior Chris Wiggins led a three-point barrage by
Gardner-Webb in his final collegiate home game and the Bulldogs
defeated Campbell 84-69 on Friday night at Paul Porter
Arena.
Wiggins finished
with 24 points on 8-10 shots, including 5-6 threes, and fellow
senior Tim Behrendorff added 12 points and 11 rebounds for
Gardner-Webb, which won consecutive games for the first time this
year. Bret Noonan added 13 for the Bulldogs.
Gardner-Webb (8-18,
5-12) wrapped a 28-7 run around halftime, hitting its first four
treys of the final staza. Wiggins made three triples in the first

percent of its shots.
Campbell, which has
lost two-straight, cut the gap to 12 on a 15-3 run, capped by
consecutive threes by Atkinson and Corey Parker. Parker's trey
from the left corner pared the margin to 62-50 with 7:00 left, but
CU could not cut the lead to single digits.
Anthony Atkinson led
Campbell with 17 points and seven assists, the freshman's highest
offensive production in a month. Dominique Klein added 14 points
and 10 boards for his seventh double-double in the last 10 games.
Robby Dupre (12) and Lee Marsh (10) came off the bench to score in
double figures.
Gardner-Webb jumped
to a 7-0 lead and held a 22-14 edge on Matt Pait's three-point play
with 8:42 to go. But the Camels reeled off seven-straight points
to cut the gap to 22-21 on Klein's steal and uncontested
dunk.
However, the
Bulldogs closed the final 6:30 of the half on a 14-4 run, which
included four triples from Noonan (twice), Pait and Wiggins, to
claim a 36-25 lead at the break.
The Bulldogs hit
6-12 threes in the opening half and 46 percent overall, while
Campbell connected on just 29 percent of its attempts from the
