Camels add Butkus to roster

BUIES CREEK - Emilis Butkus has joined the Fighting Camels. The 6'6" guard comes to The Creek following a medical redshirt season at Mercyhurst.

"We are really excited Emilis is joining our program," head coach Jimmie Williams said. "His combination of size and skill and ability to stretch the floor from three fits how we play. He will have an immediate impact on the court. He is a great person and teammate and I have no doubt he will be embraced by the Campbell faithful. His ability to guard multiple positions and how well he rebounds from his position is what we love. We are thrilled he committed, and can't wait to get him on campus."

Prior to his redshirt season, Butkus made stops at UC Irvine, Midland (TX), and Rollins. As a junior at Rollins, Butkus was the team's leading scorer with 17.7 ppg shooting 52% from the floor and 36% from distance. He also hauled in 4.7 rebounds, the second-most on the team, and averaged 2.2 assists.

Butkus scored double figures in 28 of his 29 games played for the Tars, and poured in a career-high 27 against Eckerd as one of nine games with 20+ points. He was tabbed to the All-SSC (Sunshine State Conference) third team in 2025.

Butkus, a Lithuania native, began his career at UC Irvine in 2022-23, playing two minutes per game for the Anteaters, before spending one year at Midland in 2023-24.
