BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Lucas Woodhouse led four players in double figures and Longwood defeated Campbell 76-53 Saturday night at Gore Arena.

Woodhouse scored 18 points, Tristan Carey added 17 and 13 rebounds, Karl Ziegler tallied 14 and Darrion Allen 11 for Longwood (8-19, 3-9 Big South), which jumped to an 11-0 lead and never trailed while ending a 5-game losing streak.

Reco McCarter led Campbell (12-15, 6-6) with 12 points, 10 in the second half, and Andrew Ryan added 11 for the Camels, who shot just 19 percent in the opening stanza and lost for only the second time at home against a league opponent this year.

Longwood shot 57.6 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes and led 46-13 at half-time.  Campbell made only 4-of-21 shots (.190) in the opening period and did not score from the floor over the final 8:00.  The Lancers built a 33-point half-time margin by converting 11 Camel turnovers into 15 points and claiming a 12-1 advantage on second-chance points.

The Longwood lead reached 39 early in the second half before Campbell rallied down the stretch.  The Camels outscored the visitors 18-6 over the final 4:28.

"I'm really disappointed in how we played," said Campbell head coach Kevin McGeehan.  "We practiced pretty well coming in and that's especially disheartening.  We just weren't ready to withstand their pressure and did not match their effort at the start.  There's a lot of soul-searching that needs to be done in our locker room right now.  We've got to get together and figure out who we're going to be in this stretch run."

The Lancers shot 50 percent from the floor Saturday night and earned a season split with the Camels, who won 75-67 last month at Farmville.  Longwood finished with a 40-26 advantage on the glass, 18-5 in second-chance points.

Campbell shot 37.5 percent (18-48) on the night and made only 5-of-28 three-pointers.
