Camels head to Chowan for first road test

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After beginning the season with a home win, Campbell hits the road for the first time at Chowan on Saturday, September 10. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Garrison Stadium in Murfreesboro, N.C.

CAMEL NOTES
Campbell rolled to a 59-7 win over Bluefield College in the Fighting Camels' season opener Saturday, Sept. 3 at Barker-Lane Stadium.

De'Shawn Jones ran for 142 yards, Jared Joyner 104 and Elijah Burress 86 as the Camels piled up 411 rushing yards. A redshirt freshman quarterback, Burress completed 12-of-14 passes for 161 yards and one touchdown. Aaron Blockmon hauled in five passes for 101 yards and one score.

Campbell registered the third-most points in the program's Division I history, behind a 76-0 win over Apprentice in 2011 and a 66-7 triumph against Missouri Baptist in 2014.

Since the re-birth of the Campbell football program in 2008, Campbell owns a 4-5 record in season-opening games.  CU is 5-4 in home openers.

Campbell is 1-7 in its modern era in road openers.
