RALEIGH, N.C. – Thomas La Morte of Campbell University finished as individual runner-up Sunday in the HeelPack Individual tournament at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
After shooting a four-under 68 on Saturday at the Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, La Morte shot a 76 Sunday and finished one stroke behind Steven DiLisio of Duke (73-70—143).
Campbell junior Carl Kreibich tied for 14th (75-76—151) and red-shirt junior Jeremy Nevius was 18th (76-76—152). Senior Josh Goheen finished in a tie for 30th (85-75—160).
The tournament is being played with individual, not team scores. NC State, Limestone College, Duke, Campbell, North Carolina, Wake Forest, and UNCG all sent four individual golfers. Liberty and Charlotte each sent three to compete. Overall, 34 individuals competed.
