Get To Know: Breanna Foster

Breanna Foster appeared in all 31 games during her freshman year last season. She started seven games and averaged 17.0 minutes per game. She scored a season-high 19 vs. St. Andrews to open the season. She won the Big South Freshman of the Week award on Nov. 14, 2016.

Why did you decide to play basketball? Basketball is a huge team sport and I enjoy being a part of something bigger than myself. I love the energy that the game brings and I love the passion and the desire it takes to win.
Who was your biggest influence growing up? Why? My parents, because they are two of the most hardworking people I've ever known and they have shown me that I have to fight for the things I want in life, that everything isn't just handed to you.
Did you play any other sports grow up? If so, what sports? I tried softball and volleyball
Which basketball player did you admire growing up? Why? Diana Taurasi
What is your favorite memory you experienced as a spectator/fan at a basketball game? At the beginning of the season, I was injured and I am out for this season. As a teammate sitting on the bench, I have experienced the greatest joy seeing each and everyone of my teammates being successful on the court. It makes me so happy to see us come together and show the crowd what we spend hours in the gym daily working on. My favorite memory is each day I watch my teammates enjoy and succeed at the game they love to play.
What is your favorite memory during your playing career? My favorite memory would have to be when we were picked 8th in the conference my freshman year and we shocked everyone in the big south by working our butts off and ended up 2nd in the conference at the end of the season.
If you could play with one professional player (former or current), who would it be? Why? Probably Skylar Diggins because she's such a hard worker
Which professional athlete would you like to meet the most? Steph Curry because I would just like to see his jump shot in person until I'm convinced that it's real
You are picking a team for a 3v3 game, who would be on your team? Diana Taurasi and Skylar Diggins
What is something you do when you are not playing basketball? I enjoy being a girly girl and shopping or doing makeup and hair
What is something your teammates may not know about you? I am really clingy and hate being alone at anytime (but they probably know that because I'm always with them and never leave their side)
What is the best piece of advice you have received during your playing career? To focus on bettering my teammates and everyone around me rather than focusing on my self success.
