Camels travel to The Citadel, College of Charleston

Campbell has won three in row and could extend their streak to five games with wins in back to back matches

BUIES CREEK, N.C. ­- Campbell opens a three game non-conference stretch Tuesday, March 5 as it travels to Charleston, South Carolina for two games in as many days.
 
Campbell (6-4, 2-0 Big South) opens the three-game stretch against The Citadel (6-14, 0-2 Southern Conference) with first serve being set for 1:30 p.m. followed by a matchup with College of Charleston (5-5) on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday's match will be a part of a double header as the women are in action against the Cougars as well. CU concludes its three-game non-conference stretch on Sunday, March 11 as it hosts Navy in a 2:00 p.m. start time.
 
Campbell enters Tuesday's match coming off a 5-2 win over Longwood to improve to a perfect 2-0 in conference play and to remain atop the Big South Conference standings tied with Winthrop who holds an equal 2-0 conference record.
 
Against the Lancers, Lorenz Schwab and Dustin Werner picked up their fourth straight win as a duo with a 6-2 win at No. 1. The pair now sits at a team best 4-1 mark on the season after their win that was a part of a sweep on the doubles side.

Gerard Sola and Jonathan O'Neal secured a 6-3 win at No. 2 while Lukas Schaefer and Louis Monterosso tabbed a 6-2 win at No. 3 as a pair. The match marked the first time the two joined together in doubles action resulting in a 1-0 mark in conference play.
 
Schaefer picked up his first conference win as he claimed a 7-6, 6-2 decision at No. 4 to clinch the third and decisive singles point for the Camels.
 
Two Camels have won three consecutive singles matches and sit at a perfect 2-0 in Big South play. Sola notched his third straight win with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5 on Saturday. The Vic, Spain holds a perfect 2-0 record at No. 5 and has claimed every win over his win streak in just two sets.
 
Werner's win came at No. 3 with a 7-6, 6-1 win to improve his singles record to a team best 5-3 overall, 2-0 Big South mark. Over the past three matches, the Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany native has won in two sets in two out of the last three appearances.
 
Overall the Camels hold an 8-4 individuals mark in Big South singles play. Lorenz Schwab leads the charge with a 2-0 conference record with wins against Gardner-Webb and Longwood. His most recent win against the Lancers came at No. 2 in a 7-5, 7-6 decision. The Dusseldorf, Germany native is tied with Werner for a team high five wins and holds a 5-4 overall record.
 
The Citadel has not claimed a win over a Division I opponent and is coming off a double header against East Carolina where the Pirates claimed both matches, 6-1 and 7-0. The Bulldogs most recent win came against Rose-Hulman where they claimed a 9-0 sweep.
 
Will Graham sports a 3-1 Southern Conference record but has a 7-9 overall mark on the year. Gavin Stewart holds an 8-8 overall mark but is undefeated in SoCon play with a 3-0 record.
 
College of Charleston enters Wednesday's match after winning two consecutive games with their most recent win coming against Division III opponent Washington College. The Cougars claimed a 6-1 win as Benedikt Henning claimed a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 1 after they swept doubles play. Henning holds a 6-3 mark on the season to lead the team. Only one other Cougar holds a winning record in singles play as Ksawery Pociej sports a 4-3 record.
 
A key probable matchup could come at No. 1 in doubles action between Campbell pair Dustin Werner and Lorenz Schwab and Charleston's Juan Estevarena and Benedikt Henning. The Cougar duo has not lost a point on the season and sit at a perfect 5-0 record.
 
After Campbell's three game non-conference slate, the Camels take a five-day break before they host the reigning Big South Conference champions on Saturday, March 11 in a rematch of last year's Big South Championship match.
