Getting to Know Isis Brooks

Isis Brooks, a sophomore sprinter out of Winston-Salem, N.C., is in her second season with the Campbell track & field program. She earned two all-conference honors at the 2017 Big South Outdoor Championship after finishing third in both the 100m and 200m. She has personal records of 7.76s in the 60m, 11.82s in the 100m and 24.38s in the 200m. Brooks is majoring in Kinesiology and plans to attend graduate school after graduation.

Events: 60m, 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay
Why did you decide to compete in track & field: When I was little, I would always race the kids at my school during recess. I always wanted to run and finally got the chance during middle school.
Who was your greatest influence growing up: My grandad. He is always at my meets and pushes me to do better.
Favorite professional track & field athlete: Morolake Akinosun
Favorite track & field event to watch: 4x100 relay
What is your favorite memory during your track & field career: Standing on the podium at the 2017 Big South Outdoor Championship
What professional track & field athlete would you like to compete with: Justin Gatlin because I just love the way he runs. I enjoy watching him get out on everybody.
Which professional athlete would you most like to meet: Allyson Felix. I've been watching her run since middle school and she's always been somebody I wanted to meet.
What do you like to do in your free time:  Hang out with friends and watch Grey's Anatomy
What is something that your teammates may not know about you: My favorite movie is Frozen.
