BUIES CREEK, N.C. –
Sabina Allen broke her own school record in the women's triple jump, while
Amon Kemboi lowered his own Campbell mark in the men's 5000 meters Friday.
Allen's 13.24 meter leap at the Virginia Challenge bested her previous school record of 13.11 meters, winning the event Friday at Lannigan Field.
Kemboi turned in a 13:37.48 clip, taking second at the Mt. Sac Relays, breaking his own Campbell record, previously 13:47.77.
Lawrence Kipkoech also took 16
th in the 5000 meters with a time of 13:46.00, while in the 5000 meters Open,
Ronald Cheserek took 11
th with a personal best of 14:25.49 and
Meshack Kipruto came in 22
nd with a time of 14:40.38.
Also at the Mt. Sac Relays,
Kelvin Kirui placed eighth in the men's 1500 meters with a personal best time of 3:49.62, while
Joan Maritim took 14
th in the women's 5000 meters with a personal best 16:38.36 mark.
Campbell also competed at the Duke Invitational with several Camels setting personal bests.
In the men's pole vault,
Brett Parks took fifth personal record 4.55 meter mark, while David Ward tallied a personal best in the men's hammer throw with a 47.12 meter toss, taking 13
th place.
Marcus Mize claimed a personal best in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.82, finishing 25
th.
In the women's pole vault,
Carrie Baker claimed fourth with a 3.60 meter mark, while
Michaela Louw took third in the women's 5000 meters with a time of 17:38.39.
Lize Botha (18:06.20) and
Ali Bowen (19:16.22) both posted personal bests in the 5000 meters.
Roshae Jackson finished with a personal best of 4:36.82 in the women's 1500 meters, taking 28
th.
Also posting PRs on the day on the women's side were
Jade Baldwin (1500m, 5:09.06),
Faith Lee (400m, 59.85) and
Nascha Blue (400m, 1:03.15), while
Jacob Burgamy (1500m, 4:00.62),
Travis Gallimore (1500m, 4:08.83) and
Billy Knabe (5000m, 15:59.92) collected personal bests on the men's side.

Campbell will travel to the Liberty Twilight on May 2, followed by the Payton Jordan Invitational, hosted by Stanford, on May 3. The Big South Outdoor Championships begin May 9 in High Point, N.C.
