Allen takes Second Team All-America in triple jump

EUGENE, ORE. – Campbell senior Sabina Allen collected Second Team All-America honors Saturday in the women's triple jump.

Allen scored a 12.99 meter jump in her third and final attempt of the day, moving up in the standings to 16th, securing her second career All-America honor. Allen, a Spanish Town, Jamaica native, became Campbell's first female track & field All-American in the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships, taking fifth for First Team status.

After a 12.38 meter mark in her opening jump, Allen turned in a distance of 12.87 meters in her second round attempt, and collected the All-America leap of 12.99 meters in the senior's final run.

Allen took home Campbell's third All-America honor of the week, with Amon Kemboi taking First Team All-America in the men's 5,000 meters Friday night, and Lawrence Kipkoech earning Second Team All-America status in Wednesday's 10,000 meters. Kipkoech was also an honorable mention performer in the 5K.
