BUIES CREEK, N.C. – With wins in four of its last five games, including two-straight, Campbell (8-3) closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule Sunday with a 2:00 p.m. tip-off at Ohio (8-4).
In their last four wins, the Camels have held each of their foes below 60 points and to less than 46 percent shooting. Most recently, CU defeated non-D1 member Johnson & Wales 82-59 on Dec. 21 after forcing 25 turnovers and holding the Wildcats to just 36 percent from the field.

Ohio (8-4) has won five of its last six outings, including an 82-76 triumph Dec. 21 over Morehead State. The Bobcats' lone setback in that span came Dec. 17 at home against Big Ten member Purdue (69-51).
The Bobcats are led by 2019 Mid-American Conference freshman of the year Ben Vander Plas (13.6 ppg, 6.6 rpg) and 2019 MAC all-freshman team perfomer Jason Preston (15.7 ppg), who ranks 4th in the country in assists (8.3). Vander Plas matched his career high with 24 points, plus 11 rebounds against Morehead, while Jordan Dartis scored 25 (5-10 threes).

- Campbell ranks 13th in the nation in turnover margin (+5.5) and 3-point FG defense (.266), 17th in turnovers forced (18.09) and 23rd in free throw percentage (.774).
- Ohio stands 5-1 at home this season, while the Camels are 4-3 away from Gore Arena, including a 3-2 mark in true road games.
- Sunday's game is the second all-time between the Camels and Bobcats. Last year, Ohio defeated Campbell 81-73 at Athens as part of the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic.
- Paced by Henderson (11.9), Ja'Cor Nelson (9.1), Jordan Whitfield (9.1) and Cory Gensler (9.0), seven Camels are averaging at least 6.4 points per outing, while 11 are playing double-figure minutes.

Jason Carter scored 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor and 8-of-10 from the line for the Bobcats, who made 12-of-19 from the field in the second half (63 percent). Chris Clemons led Campbell with 26 points, while Isaac Chatman added 16 and Andrew Eudy 12 for the Camels, who shot 61 percent in the opening half, but only 31 percent after intermission. Doug Taylor, Teyvion Kirk and Ben Vander Pleas added 14 each for Ohio and Jason Preston 12 for the Bobcats, who did not lead until 12:50 remained in the second period.
- Campbell stands 1-4 all-time against current members of the Mid-American Conference: Ball State (0-1), Bowling Green (0-1), Miami (1-0), Northern Illinois (0-1), Ohio (0-1). Kevin McGeehan-coached CU teams are 1-2 vs. the MAC, including a 97-87 win over Miami in the opening round of the 2018 CBI at Buies Creek. Sunday's game marks the 3rd-straight year CU has faced a MAC team.
- Former Ohio team captain Jeff Boals ('95) was named head coach of the Bobcats last March after leading Stony Brook to a pair of postseason trips in three years. He also spent 2009-16 as an assistant coach at Ohio State, three years at Akron, two at Robert Morris and four at Marshall. While Bowls was on the Ohio State staff in 2014-15, the 16th-ranked Buckeyes claimed a victory over Campbell at Columbus in the Global Sports Shootout.
