BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell's
Josh Heil has been named the Southern Conference's Wrestler of the Month for November.
Heil opened the 2019-20 season with a 9-1 overall record for the month, including a 4-1 mark against ranked opponents. The redshirt junior posted two tournament titles in November, winning the 141 pound brackets at the Southeast Open and the Navy Classic.
In his season debut at the Southeast Open, Heil went a perfect 4-0 while defeating 18th-ranked Alex Madrigal of George Mason and 23rd-ranked Zach Sherman from North Carolina. The Brunswick, Ohio native won his second tournament title of the month at the Navy Classic on Nov. 23, topping No. 6 Kyle Shoop of Lock Haven and No. 18 Mitch Moore of Virginia Tech.
Following his Navy Classic title, Heil was named the
SoCon Wrestler of the Week.
Next up for the Camels will be the Reno Tournament of Champions on December 15.
