Campbell falls to Richmond 6-1

Box Score CARY, N.C.- The Camels fell in today's match against the Richmond Spiders 6-1. Due to the forecasted rain, the match location changed from Richmond, VA to the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, N.C. The first serve was set for 1:00 p.m.

Richmond took the first two double wins to clinch the doubles point for the Spiders. Campbell's Lea Cutura and Lucile Pons paired to claim the last doubles matchup in a 6-4 win over Richmond doubles pair Lyndell Giffeing and Ana Ramirez.

In singles action, Richmond won the first four matches. Pons claimed the first singles win for the Camels going three sets against Richmond player Helene Heiberg before winning the matchup 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4. Richmond's Ramirez won the last singles matchup over Campbell's Inma Ramon 6-3, 7-6 (5).

Next Match: The Camels' chance to bounce back will take place in their second home match of the season tomorrow Sunday against the Western Carolina Catamounts. The match will take place at the Nesbit Tennis Center, and the first serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
