Camels fall to Winthrop 5-2

Box Score BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Campbell dropped their winning streak in today's match after Winthrop finished the match 5-2. The match was CU's third conference match of the season and places them at 2-1 in conference play thus far.

The energy was at an all-time high at the Nisbet Tennis Center as the Camels started off strong in doubles action. Lou Regen and Ana Castillo claimed the first win 6-2 over Winthrop's Lauren Proctor and Megan Kauffman at No.1. The Eagles responded with a 6-3 doubles win of their own before Campbell doubles pair Isabel Boada and Inma Ramon clinched the doubles point with an electric 6-4 victory.

The Camels fell in singles action, claiming one singles matchup thanks to junior Lea Cutura. Cutura won her matchup with a 6-3, 5-7,1-10 (10-7) decision over Eagle Megan Kauffman.
